Turn a favorite bottle into a working lamp — no drilling required. Our pre-wired bottle lamp kits fit wine, liquor, whiskey, and most decorative bottles using stepped rubber adapters that seat into neck openings from ¾" to 1⅜", so the bottle stays intact. Every kit includes a UL-listed socket, cord with polarized plug, and a harp for your shade — just add a bulb. Do bottle lamp kits require drilling the bottle?

No. The stepped rubber adapter seats into the bottle's neck and the cord runs down the outside back of the bottle — no damage, fully reversible. Prefer a hidden cord? You can drill a small exit hole with a glass bit; our guide shows both methods.

Should I fill the bottle with anything?

For stability, yes — sand, glass beads, or decorative stones in the bottom third keep a tall bottle lamp from tipping. Fill before installing the kit.

What's the difference between the pre-wired kits and the liquor bottle kit?

Pre-wired kits arrive fully assembled — adapter, socket, and cord already connected. The liquor/wine bottle kit includes three adapter sizes and standard lamp parts you assemble, which also makes it good for rewiring an existing bottle lamp.

What bulb and shade should I use?

Any bulb up to the socket's marked rating — LED filament bulbs stay cool and look great exposed.
