Never use a bottle that still contains alcohol, oil, fuel, or another flammable substance. Keep the lamp unplugged during assembly and follow the instructions supplied with your kit.
How to Fit the Lamp Kit to the Bottle
1. Prepare the Bottle
Remove the cap, stopper, and any loose material around the opening. Wash the bottle if necessary and allow it to dry completely before adding electrical parts.
2. Test the Included Adapters
Try the supplied corks or rubber adapters until you find the closest fit. The correct adapter should sit firmly inside the opening without falling through or moving freely.
Do not force an adapter that is too large. Excessive pressure can damage the adapter or the bottle.
3. Position the Cord
These kits allow the cord to leave from the side of the socket assembly. Position it toward the back of the finished lamp so it will be less visible.
4. Secure the Socket Assembly
Install and tighten the socket assembly according to the instructions supplied with your kit. Check that it sits straight and does not wobble before adding the shade.
5. Add the Harp and Shade
If your kit includes a harp, install it and choose a shade designed to attach with a finial. Make sure the shade is proportionate to the bottle and does not make the lamp unstable.
