The benefit of acrylic over standard wooden handles is that they don't swell from water and cause the ferrule to come loose and fall off. Plus they have a more substantial feel since the acrylic is more dense than the wood. These thicker handles are great for kids, the elderly and people whose hands tire from holding thin paint brush handles. The Golden Taklon bristles retain their shape very well and stand up to abuse better than natural hair bristles.
